L.I.S.T.E.N. at a Glance
A Distinct Identity
My significant contribution to my community is starting my own business from my passion project. My passion project is black maternal mortality. Black women die at a more alarming rate than any other race and I wanted to raise awareness not only for everyone but more specifically generation Z since we will be the next adults of the world. I created my business L.I.S.T.E.N. (Leading Initiatives to Save The Existence Now) to teach advocacy tips and educate the youth on issues that happen to minority patients in the medical field. It is important to others and myself because I want to decrease the death rate of black women who die due to childbirth as well as teach others what we can do to not only save ourselves from being the next statistic but solve the issues that come about in the medical field.
